Water Conservation

We are relentlessly striving to grow the best quality microalgae by adopting environmentally responsible practices. Microalgae cultivation requires efficient water management, and becoming water positive is the vision that drives us. We’ve established a set of water principles to guide our approach towards water usage and ensure business continuity, especially in the places where we operate. Under these principles, we’re working to utilize water efficiently, recharge rainwater and replenish groundwater, reuse treated water through wastewater treatment plants, explore circular water practices, and engage in partnerships to develop promising, state-of-the-art water conservation solutions.

• Our ongoing efforts under the corporate sustainability strategy include:
• Sustainable water sourcing and conservation
• Provision of lagoons with a storage capacity of 120 million liters to store harvested rainwater
• A zero liquid discharge (ZLD) facility
• A state-of-the-art wastewater treatment plant for reusing treated water
• Groundwater recharge systems
• Rainwater harvesting systems designed to replenish close to 135 million liters of water annually
